A Note From Mommy
Right now it is 8:45 in the morning. Today is Halle’s very first Birthday Party. All is quiet and calm in our home right now. James is still out of town, and Halle is just down for her morning nap. But in a few short hours, the day will start to speed up. In a few short hours the day will start to get away from me, and I will suddenly find myself at the end of it thinking “Wow. That went fast. I can’t believe it’s over.”
So before the day gets away from me there are some things I would like to say, some reflections I would like to make. Sorry if this is overly sentimental or gushy . . . but that is how you find me today.
So let’s just get to it then.
Thank you Jesus. There are so many things I want to say/express, but that encompasses it all. I sit here weeping, not because I am sad that my “baby” is turning one, but because I am so thankful for every single moment of the past year. Every single thing I have to be joyful about is because of Christ. So, with that said . . .
Some thoughts on my one year old daughter . . .
I love her chubby feet.
I love that lately when she is holding onto something and takes her hands off for a moment, she looks at me like, “Look at me mom . . . NO HANDS!”
She likes to dance when she hears music.
She lights up whenever she sees James.
She loves her blankey and rubs her face in it when she’s tired.
One of her favorite toys is a stuffed chick my grandmother got her for Easter. She likes to snuggle it to her face.
She loves dogs.
Halle is brave. Rarely does she show fear. She loves to be thrown up in the air, swung around, and anything else that involves making your stomach turn.
Halle is reserved, and perhaps a bit emotional. I suppose we can chalk that one up to me. Friends often comment on how “adult like” her expressions are.
Halle isn’t afraid of grass.
She likes yogurt, carrots, cereal, cheerios, and any fruit. She also likes coffee. Talk to Dave C. about that one.
Her favorite games are: being tickled; being chased; peek-a-boo.
What a great year we have had. Today we will celebrate what a gift Halle is. And, in case I forget, here are some things I would like to say to you:
*thanks for praying
*thanks for loving us
*thanks for loving Halle
*you, our friends and family, are a precious gift, and we thank God for you all
NOW LET’S PARTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
